when darkness comes

the dark room has come and gone - thanks to everyone that came and took part in the crazyness!! above are some pics of the store in it's dark room incarnation, we kinda liked embracing the seediness of k road for a few days, rockin' the red lights and wrapping everything in black latex-like plastic - in fact our mannequin may just stay like that for a little black longer we can't quite bring ourselves to unwrap her yet...

watch out for another dark room opening in the future!

the dark room opens friday the 17th july for 3 days only with huge reductions on children of vision, general cucumber.com and jimmy d stock including samples, one offs, past and current season stock.

clock watching

all photos courtesy of 1am

ya' know i think this whole internet thing is really gunna catch on, and obviously the guys at 1am agree 'cos they have taken their super cool print mag 1am and made it all, uh, digital! the pages flip like it's analogue counterpart, but it has super powers! (almost all the content has clickable links)

issue 5 is looking hotter than ever, there's a stunning feature on children of vision (which also happens to be the theme of the mag), and loads of our designers featured:

from above: romance was born 'snowflake poncho', makin jan ma 'you are my milky way shirt' & andrea crews 'hair hoody', jimmy d facet gown, jimmy d cindy cut out polo.

the above is just a big ole tease of the treats that await you, check it out the magazine here - it's awesome!!

page turner

images courtesy of pagesonline

every month we look forward to getting the email letting us know that a new pagesonline issue is out - it's the digital equivalent of getting a new air freighted mag in the post, eagerly tearing open the shrink wrapped plastic, and preparing to absorb everything it contains. and issue 63 'fracture' is a bumper issue...

our favourite davids (amazing photographer david shields and super stylist david bonney) joined forces on 'the little prince' complete with some custom cardboard accessories (look familiar??) from, well... me! and featuring some winter jimmy d pieces.

if you want to re-create those jimmy d custom frames you'll need some snips, some plasticine and a big person to help...

thanks guys!! check out pagesonline here.

going to a dark place

coming soon.

got knits

if you've seen a guy running auckland with a pair of giant knitting needles sticking out of his bag leaving a trail of brightly coloured wool, chances are it's super talented knitter extraordinaire areez katki. his labour intensive, off-beat creations combine unexpected colours, and have a drippy organic, tribal feel - one scarf even featuring cute fimo bones allowing it to be buttoned up in various ways.

we have a selection of his one off pieces in store now - get in before this guy leaves the country, gets discovered by diane pernet, starts stocking dover street market, and forgets us here in little ole new zealand...
