i wanna know what love is

the first valentines gift i ever gave consisted of a (large) bottle of beer, and some champagne flavoured chocolates with a note saying "beer budget, champagne taste". cute? maybe... i'm still not sure... but i really wish these super cute postcards by pigeon post were around then, they would have been the perfect foil to such a cheesy sentiment.

pigeon post is a line of cards produced by vanguard works (the graphic designers responsible for our website, our pretty new postcards, as well as our sister website generalcucumber.com). the cards are based on the themes of “undying love”. inspired by myths, folklores and ancient stories of love from around the world – i.e. pygmalion & galatea, hinemoa & tutanekei, the butterfly lovers and many more. they are also printed on "fsc certified paper" (fsc certified means that the paper was harvested in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner). they come with their own envelope, a small explanation of the love story on the reverse, die cut rippled edges (like old fashion postcards) and are super exclusive (we are the only stockist in new zealand).

peaches 'n dream

not many people could pull of wearing this mesh leotard by itself, but i'm sure we can all agree that peaches aint your average lady. layers of motor cross padding were removed until peaches was strutting on stage twirling the long silk ties of this jimmy d 'junction' body suit, and may i say looking mighty hot...

your bags are super cool, we are particularly fond of the furry deer skin bucket bag with braided leather and tasseled strap, but the soft as butter drawstring bags with front zipped pocket are equally swoon-worthy. we love how beautifully made they are, and how perfect they are for throwing over your shoulder and looking all effortlessly cool and stuff.

before christmas we were lucky enough to receive an invitation to the opening of 'bernhard willhelm & jutta kraus' an exhibition at the groninger museum in the netherlands, unfortunately a quick trip to the netherlands wasn't on the cards but thankfully we spied a few pics on diane pernet's blog a shaded view on fashion.

jutta kraus and bernhard willhelm started the label ten years ago, and the exhibition is a survey of the over 30 collections they have created in this time - both women's and men's collections. we are particularly in love the insanity of the displays...
